Since its incorporation in 1955, McDonald's Corporation has not only become the world's largest quick-service restaurant organization, but has literally changed Americans' eating habits--and increasingly the habits of non-Americans as well. On an average day, more than 46 million people eat at one of the company's more than 31,000 restaurants, which are located in 119 countries on six continents. About 9,000 of the restaurants are company owned and operated; the remainder are run either by franchisees or through joint ventures with local businesspeople. In 1954 Ray Kroc, a seller of Multimixer milkshake machines, learned that brothers Richard and Maurice (Dick and Mac) McDonald were using eight of his high-tech Multimixers in their San Bernardino, California, restaurant. His curiosity was piqued, and he went to San Bernardino to take a look at the McDonalds' restaurant.

Fast Food Cravings

How do you get your fast food fix? I don't know about you but I crave certain fast foods. The problem is that I live in a town with no stop lights or drive thru restaurants so I've been forced to collect copycat recipes to make my favorite fast foods at home. If you are a fast food junkie like me then read on to find out how to make almost anything you might crave from the drive thru with limited cooking skills and simple ingredients.

Quick Serve Restaurant Magazine divides the market into sectors for Burgers, Sandwiches, Pizza/Pasta, Snack, Chicken, Mexican, Seafood and Asian. This got me to thinking about what are my favorites?

When I get a craving for fast food my favorites are:

Burgers - Hardees mushroom & swiss or McDonalds Big Mac

Subs - Blimpie Best or Subway Italain

Mexican - Taco Bell Burrito Supreme or Wendy's Taco Salad

Chicken - Popeyes or KFC Twister

Seafood - Long John Silvers Beer Battered or Captain D's

Pizza - Pizza Hut Pan Pizza

Chinese - Panda Express Orange Chicken

Breakfast - Hardees biscuits, McDonald's bagel sandwich or egg McMuffin

I took a look at the hubpages fast food forum to see what was posted and saw the questions below and compiled the table below to show the most popular fast food restaurants according to the replies posted.

The results reveal a similarity to the Quick Serve Restaurant Magazine's ranking of sales. It's no surprise that McDonald's also came in first place. Next I'll examine the sectors to see which is the leader.
